Turmeric & Lemon Energy Balls


The perfect snack for on the go

  • 1 cup rolled oats gluten free

  • 8  Dates

  • ½2/3 cup cashews

  • 1 tablespoon chia seeds

  • 4 tablespoons lemon juice

  • 1 teaspoon lemon zest

  • 1 teaspoon turmeric powder

  • Pinch of black pepper

  • 1 teaspoon coconut oil

  • Optional: 1 cup shredded coconut for dusting


  1. Remove the pits from dates and soak them in hot water for3- 5 mins.

  2. Meanwhile add the cashews to the food processor and blitz for several seconds until crushed. Then add the oats and re-blitz until blended well.

  3. Once softened, drain and place in food processor. along with the remaining ingredients and blend. The mixture should start to form into a slight dough, clumping together itself.

  4. Using small spoon scoop the mixture and roll into balls. For extra sweetness, roll the balls in shredded coconut and place on the baking sheet.

  5. Store energy balls in an airtight container in the refrigerator until serving.



  • Turmeric is a great source of anti-inflammatory. It can help reduce redness from blemishes and calm skin conditions like eczema and rosacea. Turmeric is excellent for acne because it is a natural antiseptic and helps to keep bacteria from spreading.

  • Chia seeds are an excellent source of omega-3 fatty acids, rich in antioxidants, and they provide fibre, iron, and calcium.
